Gado Gado at Hula Grill

December 30, 2008

I just rated Hula Grill great for gado gado at Docoloco.

I was so sick of resort food (fries, burgers and other stodge) when I saw gado gado on the menu at Hula Grill. I got mine with rare ahi tuna on top. An absolute sensation!

I just rated Perkins and Grey great for lunch with kids at Docoloco.

We always stop by for a lazy lunch. If the wether is good you can’t beat a table in the garden.

I just told everyone over at Docoloco that you can get Jamiseon Brewery beer on tap at Jamiseon Brewery.

I said Not Sold Here.

“Beast” India Pale Ale, Raspberry Ale, Brown Ale and pale Ale make weekends at Jamo just that little bit better. I never seem to have any left to take home though.

I just told everyone over at Docoloco that you can get Jamiseon Brewery beer on tap at The gem bar and dining room.

I said Not Sold Here.

Jamieson “Beast” India Pale Ale. And it’s good.

I just rated Barleycorn Brewery great for brewing your own beer at Docoloco.

A micro brewery which provides everything you need to brew your own beer on site. They have a book full of recipes and all the ingredients you’ll need. I’ve now got 50L of something which they tell me will taste like my favourite Californian microbrew. Another few weeks and I’ll go bottle it up.

A great way to spend an afternoon with a few friends.

Baby Stuff at Parenthood

April 22, 2008

I just rated Parenthood great for baby stuff at Docoloco.

Picked up some of gifts for our friends (who are expecting twin boys – that makes it 4 for 4). This place reminds me a lot of Pottery Barn for Kids in the US.

I just rated Roosevelt Tamale Parlor great for Mexican food at Docoloco.

I used to make the trek across town for a Roosevelt fix pretty frequently. Great stuff.

I just rated Area 3 great for business coffee meetings at Docoloco.

Right next door to the office, spacious and light. The coffee’s good too.

Coffee at Squisito

November 13, 2007

I just rated Squisito great for coffee at Docoloco.

A quick coffee stop today made me see why Squisito is so frequently recommended on Docoloco.

Service at Going Going Gone

November 12, 2007

I just rated Going Going Gone awful for service at Docoloco.

ORIGINAL COMMENTS: I just bought an $800 garden umbrella from this mob and realised as I was driving home that it wouldn’t fit with my table. I made a U-turn and went back. The salesman refused to provide a refund and would only give me a store credit. These guys care little about their customers. BUYER BEWARE!!!!
UPDATE: Today my wife went in and after a bit of an argument Going Going Gone agreed to refund $750 of the $799 we paid. Firstly, thank you Going Going Gone. I genuinely appreciate the (partial) refund. The thing is that while Going Going Gone may well have been acting within the law, that’s not really the point. They showed a poor attitude to a (repeat) customer and I was very unhappy. I’m glad Docoloco gave me an opportunity to have my say and I’m also glad Going Going Gone came to Docoloco to have their say. It was a real Cluetrain Manifesto moment – www.cluetrain.com. The world is changing and businesses are learning that sometimes doing the right thing is good business practice in a world where consumers are able to share their experiences with a few keystrokes. Some businesses are just learning a little slower than others. My rating still stands. My experience was a bad one. Now … back to some positive recommendations. They’re more fun.
